GET LOST AND FOUND!

GET LOST AND FOUND IN THE STANSTED MAZE!

The Stansted Maze, in the Lower Walled Garden, opened in 2011 as a fun, family attraction where adults can be challenged and children can let off steam!

It is a circular maze, based on the target maze at Villa Pisani, Italy.

Included in admission price are giant games including chess, Jenga, Connect 4 and three holes of miniature golf.

MAZE OPENING TIMES -

NOTICE:

DUE TO THE CONTINUED EFFECTS OF COVID-19 ON STAFFING AND FUNDING, THE DIRECTORS AT STANSTED PARK FOUNDATION HAVE TAKEN THE DECISION TO KEEP THE MAZE CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. WE APOLOGISE FOR ANY INCONVENIENCE THIS MAY CAUSE.

What is in the Stansted Maze?

There are over 500 yew trees and about a kilometre of hedging to be cut every year in the Stansted Maze. The yew trees were planted in 2002 and many are nearly 2 metres tall.

Admission: £2 adults, £1.50 Children

Tickets are available at the gate or contact the office for private hire/group bookings.  A viewing platform gives great views across the maze and over the Walled Gardens towards Stansted House.

Please note: The Stansted maze is not suitable for large pushchairs or motorised wheelchairs. All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times.

PLAY AREA:

Please note that the play area has been removed by the Foundation as the structure was rotten beneath the ground and deemed unsafe. Unfortunately, due to current circumstances the Foundation has no means to build and maintain the playground again in the near future. We are fortunate to be able to provide the wonderful forest and grounds for our visitors to enjoy free of charge and hope that you can take full advantage of the open space and fresh air.

There may be a time when the play apparatus can be replaced within another area of the walled gardens but we have no solid plans as yet.

Please do keep an eye on the website for future updates.
