Imagine being invited to a magnificent Country Estate by an enigmatic host… but upon arrival with a room full of curious guests, your host is nowhere to be found. The clock is ticking, dark secrets are hiding behind polite smiles, and it is up to you to investigate what happened!

 

Join Torchlight Mysteries for a truly immersive experience at the breathtaking Stansted House. Step into a Downton Abbey-style world where servants bustle downstairs while the landed gentry dine in style upstairs. But remember: nobody is quite as they appear.

 

Your Mission:

 

Explore the magnificent Stansted House by torchlight.

Interrogate the suspects, from glamorous guests to secretive servants.

Investigate the trail of clues using your best sleuthing skills.

Solve the mystery in a giant, immersive escape-room-style puzzle!

 

The Family Mystery (Family Friendly)

 


Calling all budding detectives! Challenge the whole family to crack the Stansted Murder Mystery.

 

Kick off the evening with lashings of tea, biscuits, and ginger beer as you meet the suspects. Once you realize your host is missing, your family will have exactly one hour to explore the house by torchlight, interrogate the characters, and piece together the clues. Finally, you will all assemble in the Servants Hall to voice your theories and see if you caught the culprit!

FAQ

Q: Can I buy a ticket on the door?
A: Tickets must be prebooked only - you will not be able to attend this event without a prebooked ticket.

Q: Can I take photographs inside the House?
A: Photographs without the use of flash may be taken inside of Stansted House. Tripods are not allowed inside the House. Please note that drones are not allowed anywhere on the Estate without prior permission from the Stansted Park Foundation.

Q: Are dogs allowed inside Stansted House?
A: Unfortunately only assistance dogs are allowed at this event.

Q. How are tickets delivered?
A. Secure barcoded e-tickets are delivered immediately by e-mail for you to print at home or just save them to your smartphone/tablet to be scanned on screen. Please enter your e-mail address carefully when booking.

Q. Where can I purchase tickets?
A. Tickets are available online and only via our website - we use the ticketing platform www.tickettailor.com, you will be directed to their website via our event page to purchase your tickets.

Q. Is parking included in the ticket price?
A. Yes, there is plenty of free parking, including disabled parking

Q. Is there disabled car parking available?
A. Yes, disabled parking is on the Mansion forecourt

Q. Can I bring my carer?
A. Yes, if you need to bring a carer to this event, please visit the following link and go to the Accessibility section 'Bringing a Carer' - www.stanstedpark.co.uk/visit

Q. Can I show my ticket on my smartphone/tablet rather than printing it out?
A. Yes, as long as you are able to fully download and save the ticket to the device, and open it on the screen, the scanners will be able to verify it. Please ensure that you have downloaded the document before you arrive on site, as we cannot guarantee enough coverage to do so once you arrive.

Q. I am buying tickets under my details but intend to give them to somebody as a gift – will this be ok?
A. Yes. This is no problem - we suggest adding the gift recipients name to the order but your email address in case of any issues. You will however not be able to change the email address on this order at a later date.
