Celebrate Mothering Sunday at Stansted house and enjoy free admission for all Mothers.

Enjoy a true upstairs, downstairs experience this Mother’s Day as you visit the family seat of the Earls and Countesses of Bessborough.

Explore the stunning State Rooms, once used to entertain politicians, actors and royalty, before moving downstairs to discover the extensive Servants Quarters. Our knowledgeable House Stewards will be based around the House to answer any questions you might have and to tell you more about the fascinating history of Stansted Park. 

For younger visitors, there will be a special trail to enjoy around the House.

The Chapel of St Paul will also be open to visitors on Mothering Sunday between 1pm-4pm. 

Tickets can also be purchased on arrival in the Main Hall of Stansted House.

Parking

Parking is in the Garden Centre Car Park via the South Entrance (PO9 6DU). Access to the House and Grounds is via the Dutch Garden gate, to the right of the Pavilion Tearooms.

FAQ

Do I need to book a ticket for my mother?
You do not need to book a ticket, please just turn up on the day. For paying guests you can either book your tickets in advance or pay on arrival with cash or card.

Are dogs allowed inside Stansted House?
Unfortunately only assistance dogs are allowed inside Stansted House.

Can I take photographs inside the House?
Photographs without the use of flash may be taken inside of Stansted House. Tripods are not allowed inside the House.

Accessibility

For those with limited mobility we have a buggy with a wheelchair ramp which can collect from the Garden Centre car park or the smaller Pavilion Tearooms (Bothy) car park, and drop off directly in front of the House. Please call 02392 412265 (opt 5) to arrange in advance.

Step-free access around the House is available. Please note however that the lift may not be able to accommodate some motorised wheelchairs or mobility scooters. Please contact us on visitors@stanstedpark.co.uk or by calling 02392 412 265 (opt 5) to discuss accessibility for this event further.

Follow Brown Heritage signs from A3 (M) Emsworth exit or A27 Havant exit. Enter the Estate through the South Entrance (unless directed otherwise for specific events)
