Step inside Stansted House this Christmas and explore the beautiful Edwardian Mansion after it has been decorated for the Festive season.
Enjoy an 'upstairs, downstairs' experience as you stroll through the House and admire the traditional decorations, exploring how Christmas has been celebrated through the centuries.
You'll also discover how the Earls of Bessborough celebrated Christmas and learn more about the visit of Queen Elizabeth, wife of King George VI, to Stansted Park in December 1939. Downstairs in the extensive Servants Quarters, you will explore the servants experiences during the festive season, including the origins of Boxing Day.

Parking
South Entrance, PO9 6DU. Please park in the Garden Centre car park and come up to Stansted House via the Dutch Garden gate.
FAQ
A: Are dogs allowed inside Stansted House?
Unfortunately only assistance dogs are allowed inside Stansted House.
Q: Can I take photographs inside the House?
A: Photographs without the use of flash may be taken inside of Stansted House. Tripods are not allowed inside the House. Please note that drones are not allowed anywhere on the Estate without prior permission from the Stansted Park Foundation.
Accessibility
For those with limited mobility we have a buggy with a wheelchair ramp which can collect from the Garden Centre car park or the smaller Pavilion Tearooms (Bothy) Car Park, and drop off directly in front of the House. Please call 02392 412265 (opt 5) to arrange in advance.
Step-free access around the House is available. Please note however that the lift may not be able to accommodate some motorised wheelchairs or mobility scooters. Please contact us on visitors@stanstedpark.co.uk or by calling 02392 412 265 (opt 5) to discuss accessibility for this event further.
