Join us for a special tour this Mothering Sunday and discover the fascinating stories of the Ponsonby women.
From Henrietta Ponsonby, Countess of Bessborough’s political campaigning in the eighteenth century to Lady Moyra Ponsonby’s experiences as a nurse, this tour of the beautiful State Rooms will explore the lives of the women whose portraits and photographs decorate Stansted House today.
During the tour, you will also have the opportunity to see items from the collection that are not usually on display during our public opening.
This guided tour will last approximately 75 minutes.

A: Are dogs allowed inside Stansted House?
Unfortunately only assistance dogs are allowed inside Stansted House.
Q: Can I take photographs inside the House?
A: Photographs without the use of flash may be taken inside of Stansted House. Tripods are not allowed inside the House. Please note that drones are not allowed anywhere on the Estate without prior permission from the Stansted Park Foundation.
Accessibility
This guided tour is wheelchair friendly and step-free access around the House is available. Please note however that the lift may not be able to accommodate some motorised wheelchairs or mobility scooters.
