Discover Stansted Park

Stansted Park overlooks the coast on the Hampshire - Sussex border from the South Downs National Park . The historic state rooms, chapel, and extensive real-life servants' quarters Downstairs  are open from April to September . School visits and pre-booked group visits are always very welcome.

Every day all the family can spend a day at Stansted Park exploring on safe footpaths, buy locally raised plants at  Stansted House Garden Centre, indulge in afternoon tea or a lovely light lunch at the Pavilion Tea Room, and on Wednesday and weekends, go into the Maze, on the Stansted Park Light Railway, visit the craft workshops: the Studio Pottery or Buttercup Blue .

The amazing  new yew MAZE  at Stansted Park opened 2011 in the lower walled garden, is a great fun family attraction for weekends, Wednesdays and in the school holidays, open 11am-4pm February- October (weather permitting). The maze is currently closed for winter maintenance, re-opening 11th February 2012.

Click to find out more about how Stansted Park hosts  fabulous weddings, exciting events: open-air theatre, concerts and cricket - which has been played on the lawns in front of Stansted House since the 1740s.

The mansion and its outbuildings are now heated by a bio-fuel boiler fed by wood grown sustainably in award-winning Stansted Forest. The Forest is managed for wildlife conservation, under a Permissive Access scheme.

Stansted Park supports the South Downs Responsible Visitor Charter  and has a GTBS silver award for sustainable tourism management.

Some of our attractions are outdoors. We are high on the South Downs so please check local forecasts for PO9 6DX and contact us if in any doubt about the weather. Check opening times on our website before travelling.
