The Stansted Park Light Railway: operates passenger-carrying steam and diesel locomotives on a scenic route through the Lower Arboretum. Trains run (weather and staff permitting) on a Saturday, Sunday & Wednesday from 11am until 4pm , until the end of September. Open daily from July to early September. Menu in the Pavilion Tea Room, and a play area in the Walled Garden . Friendly
Stewards in the house will explain how they llived 'below stairs.' Lots of walks
and forest bridleways.
Dogs:
Guide Dogs only permitted in the
grounds or house. No shade in car parks. For reasons of public safety dogs are
not allowed at events.
Picnic
Area: There is an open-air picnic area adjacent to the Garden Centre.
Car
Parking: at the Garden Centre. Large
car and coach park a short walk from the House.
Special needs: disabled visitors can be set down and collected
at the House itself by prior arrangement. There is a wheelchair lift for access
to the House. Both garden and grounds have some sloping gravel paths.

Weddings:
Stansted Park is licensed for Civil Weddings and receptions and
private parties are held throughout the year. Conferences, meetings, seminars,
presentations and product launches take place regularly. Private
events take place either in the Mansion Rooms or Below Stairs.
A busy annual events programme includes open air concerts, theatre performances
and shows in the House and Grounds.
