Winter Sketching at Stansted Park

7th April (Birds of Prey session) £25 per person (NOW FULLY BOOKED) Normal sketching sessions are still available as normal.

The sessions will be split in two:

Session 1: 10.00am – 11.30am Common Kestrel and European Eagle Owl

Break: 11:30am – 12.00pm (bird handling + refreshments)

Session 2: c12.00pm-1.00pm Barn Owl and Snowy Owl

Please email visitors@stanstedpark.co.uk or phone 02392 41 2265 to reserve your place (please ask for Fiona or Dan), payment will be taken on the day of the session. If you need to cancel you place please inform us as soon as possible so that we can offer up your place to another person.

In addition we will also have the house up and running for house sketching where the rooms will be furnished, the normal £5 will apply for this session.

Life Drawing

We now offer life drawing classes running alongside Sketching on Sundays on the following dates and times:

3rd March – from 10am -12noon at the House (in the Drawing Room)

The price is £20 per session. Attendees need to bring their own materials; an easel , paper, pencil, pastel and charcoal.

The teacher, Jules Roper, is an experienced art teacher who teaches at Bishop Luffa school in Chichester and has also done Life Drawing classes at the Spring Centre in Havant.

 Jules will offer individual guidance during the session, a direction to work on, perhaps looking at a particular artist and their use of line/colour.

She will also offer worksheets each session on either basics of life drawing or more challenging ideas.

The price includes tea and coffee and biscuits which are served afterwards.

  • We charge £5 per person payable in cash or card on arrival or £25 for a six session block booking. Refreshments are included.
  • In the case of large groups please contact us to check requested dates are available before booking transport.
  • Groups may be dropped off in front of the House by arrangement.
  • Please bring your own materials: pencil, charcoal, pen and pastel are allowed in the house but no form of paint for conservation reasons.
  • No children under the age of 5; children under 15 must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Overall responsibility for those attending remains with accompanying adults/guardians.
